Jason Davis
FRIENDSHIP – With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of a cherished son, devoted friend, loving sibling, fun uncle, and doting father, Jason Davis, who brought laughter and light to all who were fortunate enough to know him. He departed this world on Aug. 7, 2023, to be with his lord and savior, Jesus Christ, leaving behind a legacy of joy and warmth that will forever remain in our hearts.
Born on Dec. 22, 1974, to Bruce and Brenda Davis, in Charleston, South Carolina, Jason entered this world with an infectious spirit that would later become his hallmark. From a young age, he displayed an innate ability to brighten any room with his humor and outgoing personality. His quick wit and lighthearted demeanor made him a treasured friend to many, drawing people near with his magnetic charm. As a sibling, Jason was a source of crazy and fun shenanigans, constant teasing, but sharing a unique bond with each of them, that was built on shared memories, inside jokes, and unwavering love. He navigated life with them always by his side, creating an unbreakable familial connection that provided comfort through every challenge and triumph. But perhaps where Jason truly shined was in the role of a father. His love for his children was unparalleled, and he embraced his responsibilities with a contagious enthusiasm. He passed down his sense of humor and zest for life, teaching his children to find joy in the little things and to always face adversity with a smile. Jason’s ability to connect with people from all walks of life made him an irreplaceable friend. Whether it was a heart-to-heart conversation or a lighthearted banter, he had an innate knack for making those around him feel valued and cherished. His kindness knew no bounds, and his impact on those who had the privilege to call him a friend will be felt for generations to come.
Jason graduated from Gardiner Area High School in June 1993 where he was able participate in his favorite sport of Wrestling and was extremely proud by becoming Co-Captain his senior year. After graduation he joined the Navy with his best friends, Kurt McCollett and Christopher Rocque, in November 1993. After leaving the Navy Jason had many adventures where his zest for life wasn’t driven by a desire for recognition, but rather by an innate love for the world and an unwavering belief that there was always something new to learn, explore, and appreciate. Jason found his passion of providing for others with Joy when they opened Diggy Dogs and created some amazingly, tasty hotdogs with a flare. They were so proud of this endeavor and to fulfill his dream of being his own boss…although everyone knows Joy was the real boss…
Although Jason’s physical presence may no longer grace our lives, his spirit will forever live on in the memories and stories we share. As we grieve the loss of a remarkable son, friend, sibling, and father, let us also celebrate the profound mark he left on this world. May his legacy remind us to embrace life with laughter, to cherish our loved ones, and to spread kindness wherever we go.
Jason is survived by his beloved parents Brenda of Litchfield, and Bruce (Nancy) Davis of South Gardiner, his sister Nichole (Ed) Dube of Litchfield, brothers Chad (Lisa) Davis of Pittsfield, and Mike (Libby) Ladner of Pittston, and his stepbrothers Torrie, Eric, and Kyle. He is also survived by his love of his life Joy Bechard of Friendship, his children Cody Davis of Windsor, Jacob Glidden of South Gardiner, Brinna Davis (and her mother Wendi Belanger Davis) of Manchester, Khloe Bechard and Kamdyn Love Davis both of Friendship, and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A Little Note from Joy:
Our time together was a whirlwind of laughter, shared dreams, and unconditional love. You taught me the importance of embracing life to the fullest, of finding joy in the simplest of things, and of spreading kindness wherever we went. You were my rock, my source of strength, and my greatest supporter.
