Constance “Connie” (Ladd) Burnham

NORTH MONMOUTH – Constance “Connie” (Ladd) Burnham, 82, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2023, at Central Maine Medical Center following a lengthy illness. She was the loving wife of Ralph V. Burnham. They were married Oct. 10, 1959, and shared 63 years of marriage.

Connie was born Jan. 9, 1941, in Jay. She was the daughter of Virgil Ladd and Geraldine “Gerry” (Waite) Nicholson. Connie grew up in Hebron. She was a graduate of Buckfield High School class of 1958. She was a resident of North Monmouth for many years, after previously residing in Winthrop and Wayne.

Connie was the administrator of the family business, Nicholson’s Long-Term Care, in Winthrop. There, she shared her passion for taking care of people with kindness and love, and always had a smile for everyone.

Connie will always be remembered for her willingness to help anyone who needed anything. She especially enjoyed going to her children’s and grandchildren’s activities. She loved to entertain and have get-togethers with her family. Connie was an amazing cook. She also enjoyed landscaping, tole painting, gambling, and word search puzzles.

In addition to her loving husband Ralph, Connie is survived by her daughter, Michele Burnham and her partner Bruce Weaver of East Waterboro, her sons Michael Burnham and his wife Tina of Winthrop, and Matt Burnham and his wife Shelley of North Monmouth. She is also survived by her sister, Deborah Diamond of Sidney; her grandchildren Melissa Burnham Barter and her husband Steve, Joseph Burnham and his wife Erin, Thomas “Chip” Burnham and his wife Cassy, Matthew Stroder and his partner Sarah, Megan Daigle and her husband Josh, Brittney Kramlich and her husband Wil, Paige Burnham and her fiancé Brendon Dunn and Ryan Burnham. She is also survived by her nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Connie was predeceased by her sister, Susan Clements, her brother, Blaine Ladd; her stepfather; Norman Nicholson; and her brothers-in-law Michael Diamond and Thomas Clements.

In honoring Connie’s wishes there will be a family graveside service in Glenside Cemetery, Winthrop. A Celebration of Connie’s life will be held at a date and time to be announced.
