Jane (Ludwig) LopezB1949 – 2023BWAYLAND, Mass. – On July 22, 2023 Jane (Ludwig) Lopez, 73, of Wayland, Mass. (formerly of Bingham and Solon, Maine) passed from this life surrounded by the love of friends and family with singing, laughter and tears. Jane had been battling pulmonary fibrosis, the result of cancer treatment in her early twenties. Jane was born Sept. 24, 1949, in Pittsburgh, Pa., and attended Penn State and the University of Massachusetts. She earned a Masters in Education from Indiana University.

She was the loving mother of Jesse (Julia) Lopez; and the devoted grandmother of Seph, Catalina and Adrian; best friend of longtime domestic partner Chris Wright; and stepmother to Jake Wright and Lyla (Colin) Glass.

Jane was an exceptional classroom, Special Education and Reading teacher to those kids who struggled the most, and was often engaged on the street by former students just wanting to say hello. After moving to Boston to be closer to her son, Jesse, and his family, Jane established a wide circle of friends. Later in life she was trained as a Davis practitioner working with adults and children with dyslexia and ADD. Jane’s passions included singing with the Mystic Chorale and the Joyful Voices of Inspiration Gospel choir.

A Celebration of Life/Memorial will be held on September 10, at 2 p.m., at the South Solon Meeting House, #1 Meeting House Road, Solon.
