A photo of Mrs. Helen Madden’s sixth/seventh grade class is one of many photos in the 2024 edition of the Jefferson Historical Society’s Vintage Photos Calendar now available for sale. All are named in the calendar.
The calendar also has photos of 11 local servicemen who served in Vietnam — 10 at the same time, as well as 4-H clubs, the United Baptist Church and its murals, and local businesses and organizations, according to a news release from the society.
The cost is $10 each. Proceeds help the society pay for the utilities, building expenses and supplies.
The calendars are available by calling 207-549-5258 or 207-549-5592, or by visiting the last two JHS “Opens,” scheduled for 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30 and from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 10, at Old Jefferson Town House, 7 Gardiner Road.
They are also for sale at Staab Trailer Registrations and Titling in Maine, 94 Waldoboro Road and at the Jefferson Market, 242 Waldoboro Road.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
