AUGUSTA — The National Digital Equity Center, a nonprofit organization which provides digital literacy classes, plans to offer free Android basics and email basics classes in September in the Community Meeting Room at Lithgow Public Library, 45 Winthrop St.
Android Basics
Classes will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday-Friday, Sept. 6-8. This class can help one get started with their Android device, learn how to use essential applications such as email, contacts, camera, and Chrome, and manage settings. This three-session class will be interactive, so people are asked to bring their Android tablet or phone, and questions.
Email Basics
Classes are set for 11 a.m. Thursday and Friday, Sept. 21 and 22. People can learn the basics of using email in this class. The class will include navigating, composing, replying and working with attachments, with hands-on class participation. This two-session class will be interactive, so people should bring their device and be prepared to login to email account.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
