Patrick Michael Graham

WINTHROP – Patrick Michael Graham of Winthrop died peacefully at home on Aug. 30, 2023.

He was born Dec. 24, 1947, in Waterville, the eldest son of Wilfred and Arlene (Cote) Graham. Pat spent most of his childhood in Kittery, where he embraced his love for music and for challenging authority (he was sent home early from nearly every catechism class for his sassy questions).

While still in school, Pat played bass with The Trojans. He loved to recount his time playing in the band with his friends at venues throughout the Seacoast.

After graduating from Traip Academy in 1966, he enlisted in the Army. He was sent to Fort Bragg for training, then served in Vietnam with the Airborne Infantry.

After serving for three years, he returned to Kittery. Soon after, he met and fell in love with Eileen Foye. They married on Oct. 29, 1969, two months after their first date.

They settled in Wells, where they raised their sons Adam and Joseph. Pat spent his career working as a machinist at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.

In retirement, Pat and Eileen moved to Winslow and then Winthrop – far from the Route 1 tourist traffic that drove him crazy.

Throughout his life, Pat found humor in even the most mundane situations. He loved music (especially John Mayall), films and cheering for the Red Sox and Patriots. He was fascinated by history, especially of music and Maine.

Pat was a great storyteller and enjoyed connecting with people he met, whether it was a World War II veteran at a local restaurant or the nurses caring for him. More than anything, Pat loved spending time with his wife and sons.

Pat was predeceased by his parents; and his brothers John and Peter.

He is survived by his wife, Eileen; his son and daughter-in-law, Adam and Gillian Graham of Buxton, and his son, Joseph Graham of Winthrop.

In honoring Pat’s wishes there will be no services and burial will be private.

Arrangements are in the care of the Roberts Funeral Home, 62 Bowdoin St., Winthrop where condolences and memories may be shared with the family on the obituary page of the funeral home website by visiting http://www.khrfuneralhomes.com
