Randy Joseph Beaulieu
KENT, Wash. – Randy Joseph Beaulieu, 71, of Kent, Washington, passed away unexpectedly while fishing on Aug. 23, 2023, at the age of 71 in Kent, Wash. He was born in Waterville. Randy is survived by his wife Gretchen Fried, his three daughters, Nicole and her husband John McCoy, Carly and her partner Michael Corey, and Alexa and her partner Will Enoch. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Faye, Hailey, Finley, Emery, and Emma. He is also survived by his brother, Regis and wife Patricia Beaulieu and his sister Darlene and husband Glenn Gamrat, sister-in-law Carrie and husband Richard LeDuc and his mother-in-law Mary Fried. Several aunts, uncles, and cousins, nieces and nephews.
Randy’s parents, Pearly and Priscilla Beaulieu, and his granddaughter Lila along with his father-in-law, Alan Fried and sister-in-law Ellen Fried, preceded him in death.
Randy attended Waterville Senior High School and later pursued higher education at the University of Maine Orono. He was an outstanding athlete at WSHS starting at basketball and football for which he was also captain. At college at UMO he was a starting defensive tackle his junior and senior year and was a respected member of the team.
Throughout his career, Randy dedicated his time to the Seattle school department, working with at risk teens. He was passionate about making a positive impact on their lives. He also was a substance abuse counselor. In his free time, Randy enjoyed camping and hiking, connecting with nature’s beauty. It is worth mentioning that despite being an avid hunter and fisherman, Randy lived with his wife and daughters who were vegetarians and vegans showcasing his respect for different lifestyles. He also enjoyed traveling the world with his wife, Gretchen. His biggest accomplishment was raising his children and spending time with his grandchildren.
At this time, no services are planned. His memory will be cherished by his loved ones and all those whose lives Randy touched. Randy’s presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy of compassion, dedication, and love will continue to inspire all who knew him.
