Robert Clayton Felt

AMESBURY, Mass. – Robert Clayton Felt, 82, of Amesbury, Mass., passed away peacefully at home on Sept. 15, 2023, with his wife and children by his side. Robert was affectionately known to all who loved him as “Bob”.

Bob was born in Bryant Pond on Feb. 3, 1941. He was the cherished son of the late Linwood and Beatrice (Cushman) Felt. He spent his career at Blue Seal Feeds in Augusta, dedicating himself to the field of animal food manufacturing.

Bob was a devoted husband to Connie Dumais-Felt, with whom he shared 31 wonderful years of marriage. Bob was an avid sports fan and nurtured a love for baseball, football, and hockey. A true pillar of the community, his spirit shone brightest as a revered sports coach and as an umpire, where he cultivated joy and sportsmanship in others. Bob was always smiling, and laughter followed him wherever he went.

In his leisure time, Bob was known as a brilliant gardener, adept cribbage, horseshoe, and cornhole player, and baker. As a baker, he brought sweetness to the lives of those around him, especially in the form of his delicious zucchini and oatmeal raisin breads.

Bob also loved to read and spent hours of every day immersed in a good book alongside his beloved grand dogs, Luna and Lily. Bob cherished these and all moments that he spent with his family.

Bob is survived by his two loving daughters, Kristen Felt and her fiancé Adam Mitchell of Amesbury, Mass. and Stephanie Felt and her fiancé Dhruv Ramesh of Brooklyn, N.Y.; his brother, Lindon Felt and his wife Melinda of Dixfield, his sisters Catherine Arey of Rockland and Linda Ward and husband Bill of Steep Falls; his sister-in-law, Rita Daggett and husband John of Litchfield; and several generations of nieces and nephews, extended family, and dear friends and colleagues.

As his family gathers to remember a life so beautifully and fully lived, they find comfort in the memories of Bob’s unwavering devotion to his family, and his generous, kind-hearted nature. Bob’s light, love, and legacy will be remembered fondly and missed deeply.

Bob’s close family will hold a private celebration of his life at a later date.

Arrangements were by Paul C. Rogers Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Ave., Amesbury, Mass.
