BELFAST — The Belfast Maskers plans to offer a variety of theater classes beginning the last week of September.
“Rising Stars,” serving performers ages 5 and 6, aims to teach acting skills through a series of theater games designed for the youngest thespians. This class will run from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Wednesdays for six weeks starting Wednesday, Sept. 27, according to a news release from the performing arts group.
“Tada!,” serving performers ages 7 to 9, is an introduction to acting through theater games, improvisation, music and creative movement. This class will run from 3:30-4:30 p.m. every Tuesday for six weeks starting Tuesday, Sept. 26.
“Theatre Club,” serving performers ages 10 to 14, includes improvisation, play reading, and exploring all things theater. Prerequisites include a love of good stories and a desire to have a good time. This class will run from 2:45-4:15 p.m. every Thursday for six weeks starting Thursday, Sept. 28.
“Teen Vocal & Cabaret,” serving performers ages 13 to 17, is a series of workshops designed to teach students how to use vocal technique and breath control to expand range, expression, and power, as well as strategies on becoming more confident in vocal performance. This class will run from 3-5 p.m. Mondays, Oct. 16 through Dec. 4.
