LEWISTON — Three-term Democratic U.S. Rep. Jared Golden and his wife, former Lewiston City Council member Izzy Golden, announced Tuesday they expect to have a second child in March.

“Izzy, Rosemary, and I are excited to welcome a new member to our family this spring,” Golden said in a statement. “Our hearts are filled with love and we are looking forward to life as a family of four.”

Rosemary Golden, who got a shoutout from President Joe Biden during a July visit to Auburn, was born in May 2021.

Biden called out the congressman at the beginning of his speech at Auburn Manufacturing and mentioned his “greatest claim to fame is the beautiful wife and little daughter I just met.”

Izzy Golden is an attorney with the Portland firm of Norman, Hanson & DeTroy.

Jared Golden, who lives in Lewiston, has represented Maine’s 2nd Congressional District since he unseated an incumbent Republican in 2018.
