Melody P. Beaulieu-Benge
BANGOR – Melody P. Beaulieu-Benge, known to her loved ones as Mel, passed away on Sept. 22, 2023, in Bangor, at the age of 62. She was born on Sept. 15, 1961, in Augusta. Melody was a warm and caring person who deeply cherished her family, especially her children and grandchildren.
Melody was a graduate of Cony High School and had a passion for early childhood development. She taught at various preschools and held multiple certifications in the field. Her expertise and dedication were particularly focused on children with special needs. Melody’s impact on the lives of these children will be remembered and cherished by all who knew her.
Melody had a wide range of hobbies and interests. Melody loved “The Wizard of Oz” and shared that passion with her children and grandchildren. She was a lifelong learner who enjoyed helping others connect with their spirituality. Melody found solace in camping, cooking outdoors, sitting around campfires and drinking coffee with the camping family. Melody loved her three dogs and couldn’t take a walk at a campground without meeting every dog! She also had a creative side and enjoyed crafts, such as soap and jewelry making, she even started her own business in this area.
Melody’s proud French and Native American heritage played a significant role in her life, shaping her values and interests. She was deeply connected to her roots and took pride in her cultural background.
Melody is survived by her loving spouse, John Benge Sr.; her children Michael Dearborn, Reinette Dearborn, Stephine Dearborn, and Benjamin Dearborn; her stepchildren John Benge Jr. and Alex Benge; her father Clement Beaulieu, his wife Brenda; her sisters Cindy Pease and Lisa Pooler; as well as 10 grandchildren and one great grandchild. She was predeceased by her mother, Sandra Nancy Mills; and nephew Christopher Pooler.
Melody will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her warmth, caring nature, and dedication to helping others will forever be remembered. May her soul rest in peace.
