SOUTH PARIS — The 2023 graduating class of Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School headed to college with more than $1 million in scholarship funds.
The scholarships, which totaled $1,028,694, included $566,000 from the Oxford Hills Scholarship Foundation, which includes Oxford Hills alumni. The foundation is the largest scholarship foundation associated with a single public high school in New England, according to a news release from the foundation.
The foundation, established in 1998, has benefited from three donations of $1,000,000 each from Robert and Sandra Bahre. The foundation has awarded over $2 million in scholarships since 1999. In 2021, the foundation awarded over $800,000 to the class of 2021 and students already enrolled in college.
The Oxford Hills Scholarship Foundation provides scholarships in varying amounts to graduating seniors and previous OHCHS graduates annually. Scholarships are awarded to students enrolled in associate or undergraduate programs.
The foundation also oversees the investment funds for several other scholarships supporting OHCHS graduates.
