Alice Jean Gove
WINTHROP – Alice Jean Gove, 76, daughter of Clarence and Cecile Roy, passed away on Oct. 1, 2023, with loving family members at her side. She was born in Eagle Lake, Maine, Sept. 29, 1947. Alice was a loving and giving person known for her caring nature and her motherly role to many. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Alice is survived by her husband Rod her daughter Kendra and sons James and Rick. She was a cherished grandmother to Jeb, Colby Nakita and Justin Dufresne, Kayleigh, Chelsea, Joshua, Edward and shamus Roy. As well as a loving great grandmother to nine grandchildren. Daughters-in-law, Lisa Roy, Megan and Sabrina Dufresne and Julie Roy. Alice was a sister to Maryanne Trask and husband Robert. Mona McDonald, Clarence Jr., William Roy and his wife Sarah.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Lori Roy and grandson Jacob Dufresne. Sisters Maxine and Marie Rose; brother Glenn. Alice dedicated many years of her life working as a mental health worker at AMHI. She also worked very hard as a waitress trying to provide for her family as a single mother. All with a smile. Wealth for Alice was not material but came in the form of her family. Family was gold to her. She looked forward to time sitting around a table chit chatting with family and dear friends. A lesson we all can learn.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday October 10 at 10 a.m., at the St. Augustine Holy Family cemetery. Following the service will be a celebration of her life will take place at the VFW on 509 Leighton road in Augusta. Please join the family in honoring and celebrating the life of Alice

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be
made by using those funds towards taking a family member out for a meal
and enjoy their company. Alice valued time with loved ones as you should.
