I write with wholehearted support of George Lapointe’s reelection to Hallowell’s mayoral seat. George is a strong, principled leader, a consensus builder with a vision for Hallowell’s future. It was this vision that facilitated the unique and thriving community within a community we now enjoy at the Stevens Complex. In addition to much needed elderly housing, the site supports, our new fire station, UMA dorms, a café, condos, and ample office space. We also enjoy the farmer’s market and many community-gathering events in the common.

Our mayor faces complex issues with openness while seeking to understand and include varying points of view. George is intelligent, thoughtful, and practical in his approach to problem solving, bringing people together for the betterment of any situation.

Reelecting Mayor Lapointe will enable Hallowell’s continued resilience and progress into the future. I hope you will join me and vote for George Lapointe for mayor on Tuesday, Nov. 7.
