Michael W. Cunningham

ITCHFIELD – Michael W. Cunningham, 65, of Litchfield, passed away on Oct. 1, 2023 after a brief illness. He was a loving father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend to many throughout his life.

Michael attended Gardiner Area High School. He later retired from the State of Maine, Department of Transportation after 26 years of dedicated service. Following his retirement, he worked several years at both McGee and Canty Construction.

In his free time, Michael enjoyed snowmobiling, boating, four wheeling, and ice fishing. He found great joy in these outdoor activities and especially spending time with all of his beloved dogs.

Michael is survived by his two daughters, Katie Cunningham and Amanda Larrabee; one grandson, Bradley Gowell; two sisters, Sherry Hayes and Debra Bossler, one brother, Gary Cunningham; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Blanche M. (Spencer) Cunningham, his father, Walter J. Cunningham; and his brother, Stephen Cunningham.

A private celebration of life for Michael will be held at a later date.
