RANGELEY — A commercial man lift was being hauled Tuesday morning when the load shifted and it fell off a trailer at the intersection of state Route 4 and Dallas Hill Road.
No one was injured, Fire Rescue Chief Michael Bacon said.
A dump truck was hauling the lift and the chains broke that secured the lift to the trailer. The name of the driver and the company towing it was not immediately available Tuesday.
Firefighters cleared the road and cleaned up leaking hydraulic fluid.
M&H Construction and Koob’s Garage, both of Rangeley, worked to put the lift upright on the road, Bacon said. Traffic was stalled for about 30 minutes.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
