Donald Forrest “Woody” Rose

UNITY – Donald Forrest “Woody” Rose, 50, died peacefully Nov. 10, 2023, at his home in Unity with his loving wife at his side. He was born Nov. 24, 1972, a son of Donald E. and Nancy (Sprague) Rose. Woody grew up in Augusta and graduated from Cony High School in the class of 1991. He worked in construction and was an amazing craftsman, able to build anything you needed. On July 17, 2004, he married Marcy Rose, and became the proud and loving father to two children, Jason and Zakkery.

All would agree, Woody was an unforgettable person with a heart of gold. His smile, humor, warmth, and kindness will be missed.

Woody is predeceased by his father, Donald E. Rose, and his beloved dog, Una. He is survived by his wife, Marcy Rose; mother, Nancy Rose; sons, Jason Garfield Jr. and Zakkery Garfield; grandson, Jason “JJ” Garfield III; siblings, Shawn “Bub” Rose and his wife Angel, Tammy Lepage, and Tina Lepage and her husband Peter Tsirigotis and their daughter Page Tsirigotis; countless friends; and his beloved dogs, Babe and Paco.

A period of visitation will be held on Saturday, December 2, from 10 a.m. to noon, at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta, ME 04330 where tributes by the family will begin the visitation at 10am. A Celebration of Life will follow at the VFW, 509 Leighton Rd., Augusta, ME 04330.

Sincere gratitude goes to the workers at hospice for the care they gave Woody, and especially to Kathy, a hospice worker beloved by Woody for her highly competent and compassionate caretaking.
