WILTON — A man who moved to town Sunday died in the afternoon while walking on Munson Road after he was struck by a pickup truck, Police Chief Ethan Kyes said.
Levi Jewell, 29, was wearing dark clothing and walking at about 4:30 p.m. It was very dark out because of the overcast sky.
He was struck by a Ford 350 truck driven by Tyler Hamlin, 29, of Farmington who driving in the same direction as the pedestrian, Kyes said.
CPR and a defibrillator was used on Jewell but it was not successful, he said.
“Jewell was pronounced dead at the scene,” Kyes said.
It was not far from his new home where he had moved to on Sunday, he said.
The crash remains under investigation, Kyes said. Maine State Police are reconstructing it.
Officers Keith Masse and Maverick Real, and Chief Kyes responded to the crash reported at 4:36 p.m. NorthStar EMS ambulance and Wilton Fire Rescue also responded to the scene.
