He attended the Roosevelt School in Thorndike, until he graduated eighth grade.

He worked in the Tannery in Brooks, until the boiler blew up, then went on to work at the Poultry Factory in Augusta and then the Poultry factory in Belfast. When he moved to Waterville he worked at Harris Bakery, then retired.

He rode a three-wheeled bicycle for 60-plus years. He would ride it back and forth to Augusta, Belfast, and Waterville to Thorndike wherever he lived. When he could no longer ride that, he walked with a wagon to go to stores to do shopping. He enjoyed walking the streets of Waterville retrieving shopping carts for all the stores. He had a heart of gold, he loved and wanted to help others.

For the past six years he resided at Mt. St. Joseph, where he was known as the hall monitor. He will be greatly missed by many.

There will be a small service in the spring.
