

Connor Riddle of Troop 672 lives in Randolph. Submitted photoAUGUSTA — Across the area, Scouts took part in wreath-laying ceremonies Dec. 16 as part of the nationwide Wreaths Across America Day, according to a news release from Chuck Mahaleris, district chairman for the Kennebec Valley District of Scouting.
Scouts from Hallowell Troop 647 joined those from Vassalboro Pack and Troop 410, Windsor Pack and Troop 609, and Gardiner Pack and Troop 672 in Augusta at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery to place wreaths there.
The mission of Wreaths Across America is to remember the fallen; to honor those who served; and to teach the next generation the value of freedom.
