BATH — The Chocolate Church Arts Center, 804 Washington St., has been casting a textured musical net with flavors from the African diaspora to American pop and jazz, and folk from New England to Columbia.

In February it plans to present two shows featuring New England musicians rooted in French Canadian, Celtic, Americana, and bluegrass traditions.

At 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, is Side by Each. Don and Cindy Roy bring their Maritimes and Quebec roots and award-winning fiddling and piano to a string-driven party with Erica Brown Shipman and Matt Shipman, the former a fiddle/bluegrass leader in the New England scene and the latter a multi-instrumentalist.

Together, they are Side by Each. Tickets cost $20.

At 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, is Tricky Britches, an Americana string band renowned for electrifying live performances and timeless sound.

The five- person ensemble includes upright bass, banjo and fiddle, rooted in traditional bluegrass, old-time country and folk traditions. Tickets cost $25.
