SKOWHEGAN — Ryan Parent hit a buzzer-beater as time expired to give Messalonskee a 60-58 win over Skowhegan in boys basketball action Saturday.
Parent finished with nine points for the Eagles (10-4). Sam Dube led all scorers with 26 points while Merrick Smith added 10.
The River Hawks (4-9) were led by Ryan Donoghue with 23 points and Adam Fitzgerald with 16.
RANGELEY 71, NORTH HAVEN 47: Sam Morrill’s 22 points led the Lakers to the win in Rangeley.
Anthony Whittier and Brayden Thompson each added 18 points for Rangeley (4-9), which defeated North Haven 81-53 on Friday.
Bret Waterman tallied a game-high 25 points for the Hawks (0-10).
TEMPLE 57, VINALHAVEN 29: Peyton Reckards had 15 points and 15 rebounds to lead the Bereans to the win on Vinalhaven.
Ricardo Luis added 10 points for Temple (7-6).
Vinalhaven (0-14) was led by Anthony Roberts with 11 points.
FOREST HILLS 69, GREENVILLE 41: Cooper Daigle and Blaine Nadeau each had double-doubles to pace the Tigers to the win in Jackman.
Daigle finished with 17 points and 10 rebounds while Nadeau added 16 points and 14 rebounds. Jaxon Desjardins led the scoring with 19 points for Forest Hills (10-5) while Braidan Welch added eights points and 13 assists.
Greenville (1-13) was led by Liam Mason with 18 points and Ocean Turner with 14.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
WINTHROP 42, WAYNFLETE 35: Madeline Wagner had 16 of her 25 points in the second half to pace the Ramblersas they rallied for the win in Portland.
Winthrop improves to 9-4.
Lucy Hart led the way for Waynflete (10-4) with 17 points.
GREENVILLE 42, FOREST HILLS 39: The Tigers rallied to outscore the Lakers 28-15 in the second half but fell short in Jackman.
Allie Dunning led Forest Hills (10-4) with 10 points while Kylie Yu added nine.
Greenville improves to 4-7.
MARANACOOK 66, OAK HILL 29: Natalie Mohlar scored 28 points to lead the Black Bears to the win in Readfield.
Celia Bergdahl and Cooper Davis each added 12 points for Maranacook (9-5).
Mackenzee Wardwell led Oak Hill (1-11) with 11 points while Audrey McElhaney had six.
SKOWHEGAN 43, MESSALONSKEE 35: Annabelle Morris scored 16 points to lead the River Hawks to the win in Oakland.
Natalie Cooke added eight points for Skowhegan (8-6).
Ashley Mullen scored 15 points for Messalonskee (2-13) while Leire Mayayo chipped in nine.
