MADISON – Kenneth Franzose, 90, of Madison, passed away on Jan. 16, 2024.

He was born April 16, 1933, in Mercer to John Franzosi and Vena (Brann) Franzosi. He enjoyed time with family and friends, hunting, fishing, gardening, and was an avid Red Sox fan.

He is survived by his children, Randy (Katherine) Franzose of Madison, Ricky (Michelle) Franzose of St. Petersburgh, Fla., Kevin (Suzanne) Franzose of Vero Beach, Fla., Vicki (Clem) Caron of Rockford, Mich., Scott (Heather Abbott) Franzose; 10 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

He was predeceased by his wife, Shirley of 49 years; his parents John Franzose and Vena McLean; brothers Roy Franzose, Sr. and Fred Franzose.

He served in the Navy during the Korean War. Member of the Harvell-Bishop Post 7865 VFW and the Tardiff-Belanger Post No. 36 American Legion in Madison.

He worked on building Maine roads, owned and operated a garbage removal company, worked at Kennebec River Pulp and Paper, International Paper Company until he retired, and owned Franzose’s Market after retirement.

A service will be held in the spring at Forest Hill Cemetery in Madison with a celebration of life to follow at the Madison VFW.
