Wayne Richard Fotter

PITTSFIELD – Wayne Richard Fotter, 84, died peacefully at his home on Feb. 1, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on Dec. 29, 1939, in Waterville, the son of the late Percy and Lena (Joseph) Fotter. He graduated from Waterville High School with the class of 1958. He married his high school sweetheart, Kay Corson, in 1959 and they raised five children together.

Wayne proudly served our country in the United States Army and Air National Guard in Bangor. He received several awards and completed 32 years of service to our country, including serving in Desert Shield. Wayne loved his family and enjoyed cheering on his kids and grandkids. He loved fishing, hunting, motorcycling, and all kinds of sports. He immersed himself in the community through coaching and public service.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Kay Fotter of Pittsfield; children, Jimi Fotter of Lewiston, David Fotter and wife Tracie of Valdosta, Ga., Jeffrey Fotter and wife Cheryl of Gorham, Debra Pronovost and husband Eric of Cumberland Foreside, and Kimberly Fotter of Gorham; grandchildren, Shannan Fotter, Marcus Fotter, Zachary Mills, Alexis Fotter, Lauren Fotter, Jordyn Fotter, Nick Pronovost, Taylor Pronovost, and Jackson Fotter. He was predeceased by his parents, Percy and Lena; brother, Brian Fotter, and sister, Joyce Bushey.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 7 at the Shorey-Nichols Funeral Home, 191 Hartland Ave., Pittsfield. A private committal will be held by the family.
