LEWISTON – Anne W. Wallace, 81, of Monmouth, passed away Friday, Feb. 2, 2024, at Woodlands Memory Care in Lewiston, with her family by her side.
She was born Nov. 11, 1942, in Lewiston, the daughter of Earl R. Ward and Edna Mae (Fogg) Ward. She was a 1961 graduate of Monmouth Academy.
In 1961 she married Edgar H. “John” Wallace in Turner. They enjoyed 22 years of marriage before his passing on Sept. 26, 1983.
Anne worked as an accountant for the State of Maine at the Department of Education. She was a former member of the North Monmouth Community Church. Anne enjoyed traveling, trips to the Caribbean and wintering in Florida, and especially spending time visiting with her family.
She is survived by her son, James Wallace and his wife Mary of Poland; grandchildren, Corey Wallace of Auburn, Bevin Wallace of Poland, Rebecca Wallace, Zachary Wallace; and her daughter-in-law, Wendy Wallace all of Leeds; sisters Ava Mason of Litchfield, Barbara Crocker of Augusta, Beverly Ward of Winthrop and her brother, Allan Ward and his wife Chris of North Monmouth.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband; her son, Brian Wallace; sisters Mary Foss and Janice Chass, and brothers David, Donald and Ernest Ward.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 8 at Bragdon-Finley Funeral Home, 707 Main St., Monmouth. Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Interment in the spring at Leeds Plains Cemetery, Plains Road, Leeds.
