UPDATE: Michael Paul has been located safe, according to police.
WATERVILLE — A Silver Alert was issued Sunday afternoon for Michael Paul, 59, of Waterville, according to officials.

A Silver Alert is a public notification that broadcasts information about a missing person, oftentimes a senior citizen.
The alert for Paul was issued because he left his home Friday on Hazelwood Avenue, according to the Waterville Police Department, and was last seen at about 10:50 p.m. Friday on College Avenue in Waterville.
Paul’s cellphone last pinged at 3:20 a.m. Saturday in the Woolwich area, according to Shannon Moss, spokesperson for the Maine Department of Public Safety.
It was unclear Sunday if Paul had left on foot or received a ride, although information released by Waterville police said Paul was believed to be headed to the Bath area in Sagadahoc County.
Paul is described as a white male, 5 feet 9 inches tall, 180 pounds and having brown hair and blue eyes.
He suffers from a traumatic brain injury, according to Waterville police.
Officials said anyone who sees or has information about Paul should call Waterville police at 207-680-4700.
