Steven Eric Monroe

CHELSEA – Steven Eric Monroe, 60, of Chelsea, died Thursday, Feb. 8, 2024, at his home after a brief illness with his loved ones by his side. He was born in Augusta on March 7, 1963, the son of Francis and Dixie (Parlin) Monroe.

Steve graduated from Gardiner High School in 1981 and has worked for Interstate Fire Protection for about 39 years.

He loved to go camping and four wheeling with his wife, kids and grandkids. He loved watching his grandkids play sports, and his daughter Nasya coach. Steve loved spending time with his friends and family.

He was predeceased by his wife, Tina Monroe; daughter Corasan Marie Monroe; father, Francis Monroe and mother, Dixie Landry.

Steven is survived by two daughters Felicia Ward and fiancé Nate Johnston, Nasya Monroe; four grandchildren Aidan and Dominic Ward, Riley and Jocelyn Johnston; brothers Eugene Monroe and fiancé Mae Mayo and Timothy Monroe and wife Martha, and sister Laurie Monroe; sister-in-law Debby Campbelltown and husband Billy; many nieces and nephews; family pets Lilly, Daisy, and Blaze.

Steven’s memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, Feb. 17, 2024, from 12 – 2 p.m., with a service to follow, at Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Ave., Gardiner. A family spring burial will be held at a later date.
