Roxanne Leona (Beane) McKenzie

MOSCOW – Roxanne, born Sept. 18, 1954, was surrounded by loved ones as she passed on Feb. 14, 2024, at home after a very courageous battle against cancer. Nothing meant more to her than her family.

Roxanne loved to fish, kayak, art music and to party with her friends. Roxanne graduated from Upper Kennebec Valley High School in 1973. She also got a Diploma in Maine Wildlife Conservation. She worked at the yellow bowl at a young age, Solon Manufacturing, construction, crab apple, Dirigo Stitching and New Balance.

Roxanne was predeceased by her parents Terry Beane and Evelyn Beane of Moscow; and brother Brion Beane of Portland.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years Leland McKenzie of Moscow; daughter Shannon McKenzie and boyfriend Joseph Singletary of Lewiston, son Lance McKenzie and wife Katie and boys of Skowhegan, stepson Joey McKenzie and his family of Bingham; three grandchildren; six great grandchildren; brother Danville Beane and his wife Nancy and their family, brother Robert Beane and his family and brother Terry Beane and his family

The family of Roxanne would like to give special thanks to granddaughter Karin Stevens for all of her love, help and support. Special thanks to her dear friend Raejean Beane for always being there through her battles. Special thanks to Skowhegan Oncology and hospice nurse Fran of Maine General Hospice. And last but not definitely not least a special thank you to her cousin Paul Pono for his love help and support.

A celebration of life will be held in the spring for family and friends.
