Fayette’s Starling Hall’s annual online auction, its largest fundraiser of the year, is set to open bidding Friday, March 1.
All proceeds are being dedicated to Starling Hall renovations. Starling Hall is the oldest building in Maine known to be built to function specifically as a Grange hall. First constructed in 1878, the original structure was enlarged to its present dimensions of 32 feet by 65 feet in 1891.
The Friends’ goal is to bring the structure into compliance with today’s code required for the building to be fully used as a public facility.
Visit new.biddingowl.com to check for added items. The auction ends at 6 p.m. Friday, April 12. There will be more than 100 items up for auction.
Auction items can be picked up at the Breakfast and Bake Sale set for 7:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 13, or call Lori Beaulieu at 207-576-9830.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
