Charles “Charlie” P. Campbell Sr.
SKOWHEGAN – Charles “Charlie” P. Campbell Sr., 75, of Skowhegan, joined his beloved wife, Shirley, in Heaven on Sunday, Feb. 18, 2024. “Joe”, as his family knew him, was born on June 4, 1948, in Lewiston, to Charles A. and Iverne E. (Coombs) Campbell.
Charlie, to his friends and colleagues, worked most notably at North Elementary School as a custodian, where he loved working in the presence of children, often coming home ready to share the cheer and laughter of his day. In his free time, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle, volunteering for Toys for Tots, dancing to old rock and roll tunes, and playing bingo. He had an infectious laugh and enjoyed time spent with his family and friends. He could often be found with his door open for 5am coffee and chatting to family and neighbors.
He was predeceased by his parents; wife Shirley; sister Sharon, brother Dwight; grandchildren Sabrina and Wayne; and an infant brother William.
Charlie is survived by his children Robin James and husband Wayne, Penny Corson and husband Cliff, Chris Stafford and husband Jamie, Roxanne Bushey and husband Frank, Lori Prentiss and husband Barry, and his only son Chuck Campbell and wife Randa; grandchildren Joshua and Lindsay Corson, Laurel Bushey, Isaiah, Euriah, and Gabrielle Campbell, Morgan Prentiss and Alex and Jayme Stafford; great-grandchildren Wesson Corson and Mason Campbell; brothers Dan Campbell and Andrew Coombs, sister Judy Campbell, brother-in-law Raymond Bouchard; along with many nieces and nephews.
