Cindy L. (Gowell) Pushard

LITCHFIELD – Cindy L. (Gowell) Pushard, 66, of Litchfield, passed away after a long valiant battle with cancer. She passed Feb. 12, 2024, at her daughter’s home in Florida with her family by her side. She was born April 17, 1957 to Clarence and Alma (Bowman-Young) Gowell.

Cindy graduated from Monmouth Academy in 1975 where she enjoyed playing basketball and softball. She went on to be a stay-at-home Mom to four children. Her home was always full as she took care of many of her nieces and nephews. She loved being home with her kids making homemade meals and baking desserts. Entering the workforce after her kids were grown working for Pathways Inc. for 17 years. As a job coach she worked with people with developmental disabilities showing them how to be successful in the workplace. She worked in many different locations making a difference in the lives of so many people.

Her hobbies were cooking, baking, knitting, growing plants, flowers and vegetables in her garden. Christmas was her favorite holiday and she loved decorating her yard, even though her most recent winters were spent in Florida as a snowbird. She lived for her kids and loved her grandchildren with all her heart attending as many sporting events and school functions as possible. Gram loved to spoil them when they came to her house, nothing was really off limits! The kids enjoyed many sleepovers with her and countless hours of playtime.

Cindy was a kind and caring person ready to help anyone in need. With a great sense of humor, a smile on her face, and love in her heart. Even through all her health issues she remained positive and showed immense courage and strength. She lived by the words “not much bothers me”. Cindy was an amazing person and if you didn’t know her you really missed out.

She survived by her parents Clarence and Alma Gowell of Litchfield; brother Ken of Phippsburg, siblings Rick, Cathy, Kim, and Larry of Litchfield; daughters Teresa (David) Brown of Topsham, and grandson Evan Thibeault of Litchfield; Lisa (Walter) Hart and grandchildren Toni, Ripley, and Adie of Litchfield; Michelle (Ryan) Gagnon and grandson Alexzander of Auburn and granddaughter Haylee of Fairfax, Va.; son Kyle Chapman of Litchfield.

A celebration of life will take place June 22, 2024 at 2 p.m. at the Sportsman club in Litchfield.
