Director Stephanie Natale recently unveiled the cast she has selected for Belfast Maskers’ first production of 2024, “Proof” by David Auburn.
Performances are set for March 8-17 at the Basil Burwell Community Theater, 17 Court St. in Belfast, at 7. p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. on Sundays.

This drama of mathematics, madness, and mystery won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama as well as the Tony Award for best play when it debuted.
Leading the cast is local performer Angelina Nichols, who takes on the challenging role of Catherine, a complex, brilliant, and enigmatic character grappling with her father’s legacy and her own identity.
Bart Shattuck, a seasoned actor, steps into the role of Robert, Catherine’s father. Katie Glessner, an actress very familiar to Midcoast Maine audiences, will play Claire, Catherine’s
pragmatic sister. Tucker Atwood, local actor, director, and playwright, will portray Hal, an ambitious young mathematician.
Joining Natale on the design and production team are Stage Manager Latricia Saucier, Producers Julia Olson and Cassidy Small, Lighting Designer Zafra Whitcomb, and Sound Designer Jay Rosenberg.
General admission tickets cost $18, with a $3 discount for students and seniors and a group discount of 15% when six or more tickets are purchased online. There also will be a $10 preview night performance on Thursday, March 7.
