Edwin G. Jackson

WAYNE – Ed Jackson, 84, died March 3, 2024 after a four-year battle with cancer.

He was born Dec. 13, 1939, the son of Gordon “Buck” and Gladys Jackson.

He grew up in Pompton Lakes, N.J. and in 1960 married Dorothy (Rak). They lived in New Jersey until October, 1971 when they bought their home on Pocasset Lake, in Wayne.

Ed had his own construction business and loved building houses. He retired in 2007, where he spent his remaining years enjoying relaxation and visiting his grandchildren in South Carolina. Ed was an avid golfer and belonged to the senior league in Turner before he fell ill and could no longer play.

Ed was a man of integrity, impeccable honesty, duty and devotion to his family and community. He loved his wife, Dot, faithfully for 64 years. He was a man of down to earth wisdom. He left a beautiful legacy for his children and grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents; and his brother, Ronnie.

He is survived by his wife, Dot; son, Perry, and his wife Kim of West Union, S.C., daughter, Sandy and her partner Lynn of Winthrop; six grandchildren, Kyle, Clint, Rachel, Katie, Sarah, Jenny; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held on March 23 at the Wayne Methodist Church at 10 a.m.
