William Richard Bushey

LAKE CITY, Fla. – William Richard Bushey, born Nov. 22, 1977, in Sherman, Texas, only child of Michelle Campbell and William Konzer, passed away Feb. 11, 2024 in Lake City, Fla. at the age of 46.

Bill was an awesome person. He was smart, funny and very charismatic. He was a jack-of-all trades from decks to floors to drywall to ceilings. He loved to cook and shared that love with his son Julian, passing on his love for it. He could do anything he set his mind to. Bill enjoyed reading, playing cards and dominoes but his love was Chess which his grandfather taught him how to play.

Bill loved to travel. The summer he was 9 he was able to visit 33 of the lower 48 states. He lived in Texas, Michigan, Maine, New Hampshire, and finally settled in Florida, even living on a boat in the Keys for a while.

He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents Richard and Margaret Campbell and his paternal grandparents Joseph and Helen Alfano.

He is survived by his son Julian Bushey of Wells River, Vt.; mother Michelle Campbell of Unity, Maine, biological father William Konzer of Sherman, Texas, and the man he called Dad, Ric Watkins of Brooks, Maine.

Bill also leaves behind his best friend and someone he called sister, Melissa Lacombe of Winslow, Maine and good friend John Wyckoff of Florida, along with many others. If he called you friend, you had a friend for life.

There will be no service. A Celebration of Life will be held in June in Unity with date and time to be announced at a later date.

He will forever be my Turkey Bird.

HE BURNED BRIGHT & HOT. HE BURNED OUT TOO SOON.
