Scott Robert Morrisette
AUGUSTA – Scott Robert Morrisette, 39, of Augusta passed away on March 3, 2024 at his home.
He was born on December 14, 1984 to Robert “Bob” and Brenda (Burdzel) Morrisette and graduated from Cony High School in 2002.
It is with the heaviest of hearts, we announce that after 428 wonderful days of sobriety, Scott lost his struggle with addiction. It was the happiest 428 days of Scott’s adult life with lots of smiles and laughter, something he had lost along the way fighting the demons of alcohol and drugs.
Scott found ENSO Recovery, a place with friends that were just like him, fighting the same fight. He found the peace and strength to stay sober and a place to be himself. Here Scott found his purpose to help others in their journey.
He met Garrett who found something in Scott worth saving. He found Rob W., a man he let into his life whom he trusted with his journey. He met Pastor Rick who helped Scott with his spiritual journey. He met Michele, you were his success story, in helping you, he helped himself. Scott also found God, a God he loved who guided him, forgave him and who showed him the way.
Scott helped so many, he was involved in the Augusta recovery community and in Celebrate Recovery with his church. He worked recovery and service work in Portland, Brunswick, Topsham, Pittston, Lewiston, Auburn, Windham, and Hallowell. He ran his own meeting, Augusta Serenity at Green Street Church.
There are seriously way too many to thank, so thank you to anyone who loved him unconditionally, helped without thought, helped with his struggles, helped answer his questions, and listened withour judgment.
Scott was predeceased by his grandparents, Peter and Norma Morrisette and Richard Burdzel; uncle, Ricky Burdzel; two cousins, Maranda and Bo Walker.
Surviving besides his parents are grandmother, Irene Burdzel; brother, Christopher Morrisette, sister, Amy (Morrisette) Vintinner and husband, Darryl and their children, Cadince, Teagen, and Quinn; aunt, Susan (Burdzel) Walker; cousin, Brooke Walker; aunt, Maryellen Beaulieu and husband, Doug; aunt, Sheila Myers and uncle, David Morrisette; several nieces and nephews.
If you’re struggling, call someone, you will not be bothering them. If you feel alone in this world you’re not, reach out. Anyone in recovery will be glad to talk without judgement. If you’re lost find a meeting, they can help show you the way. If you need to use, do not do it alone, it could just save your life.
My dearest Scott, you have worked so hard and helped so many, now it’s time for you, my son, to rest with God.
There will be a Memorial Service at 10 a.m., on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at the Augusta First Church of the Nazarene, 30 Nazarene Drive, Augusta with a reception to follow after the service.
All are welcome.
