WINDSOR — A man from China in Kennebec County died and an Augusta woman was taken to the hospital following a crash early Thursday on Mud Mill Road in Windsor.
A deputy from the Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office responded shortly after 3 a.m. to a report a car had gone off the road, according to a statement released to the news media.
The deputy found two people inside a 2012 Subaru Outback, in which the airbags had deployed.
The driver, Shawn Donovan, 65, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The passenger, Jessica Hans, 42, was not conscious at first and was taken by Delta Ambulance to MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta.
Rescue workers administered lifesaving measures to Donovan, but were unable to revive him, officials said.
A preliminary investigation suggested Donovan suffered a medical event before the crash.
