A group gathered at the State House in Augusta in support of white supremacy. Seeing them give the Nazi salute was frightening and not very representative of the state of Maine.

L.D. 2130 is a bill to stop any unauthorized paramilitary group from organizing in the state of Maine. Other states have passed this type of bill.

I am a proponent of free speech, but welcoming groups that spew hate and violence is offensive.

In 2021 a group calling themselves the Rise of the Moors was traveling to Maine with the stated goal of paramilitary training. The group was apprehended in Massachusetts after an armed standoff. Maine does not want these groups in our state.

Please contact your legislators and have them support L.D. 2130.
