NORTH ANSON — Devyn DeLeonardis, a senior at Carrabec High School, has been selected to receive the 2024 Principal’s Award. The award, sponsored by the Maine Principals’ Association, is given in recognition of a high school senior’s academic achievement, citizenship and leadership.
DeLeonardis, son of Frederick and Amanda DeLeonardis of North Anson, is one of the top students in the class of 2024. He is a member of the National Honor Society and was selected as the first student to represent his class as student of the month.

It is in the areas of citizenship and leadership that DeLeonardis truly excels. His eagerness and enthusiasm make him a leader and a role model in the school, Principal Peter Campbell said in a news release.
This year DeLeonardis earned the rank of Eagle Scout, which only about 5% of all scouts manage to obtain. He has more than doubled the required number of community service hours required to graduate.
DeLeonardis plans to attend an awards luncheon Saturday, April 6, where he is eligible to be selected for one of 10 scholarships.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
