The annual Whitefield Fourth of July Parade, the only parade that goes by twice, will start at 10 a.m. on Head Tide Road.
Decorate a horse, car, mower, truck or body in your best holiday garb and then cap off the quintessential small-town parade in Whitefield with the Kings Mills Volunteer Fire Association festivities.
The events include an auction, hot dogs, the ever-popular cake walk, games for kids, French fries and the best baked goods in town. The auction starts right after the parade ends, and the Union Hall White Elephant Sale is next door.
Those who have good, resaleable items for the auction (no white goods, please) can call 207-624-2268 or 207-458-5641 to make an appointment to drop auction items off at the station Monday through Thursday nights in June.
Items for the auction can also be dropped off from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday and Sunday, June 29-30, at the Kings Mills Fire Station on Townhouse Road.
All proceeds support the volunteer firefighters and emergency medical services in Whitefield.
