DRESDEN — The Office of State Fire Marshal on Sunday was investigating fires at two unoccupied buildings on Middle Road in Dresden.
One fire was reported at 1 a.m. Sunday and the other at about 8 a.m., with firefighters from Dresden and several other communities responding to the calls.
Firefighters were at the scene of the first fire for two or three hours, and at the second fire for about two hours, according to Chief Larry Call of the Dresden Fire Department.
Call said he could not provide further details Sunday on the fires because both were still being investigated. He said the first fire was “quite involved” in flames when firefighters arrived.
Firefighters from Pittston, Richmond, West Bath, Wiscasset and Woolwich were among those who helped extinguish the flames.
Social media posts indicated both buildings were trailer homes, one of which was being renovated.
