LEWISTON — Police responded to a Pierce Street residence Saturday afternoon for reports of an injured child who fell out of a window, according to officials.

Lewiston police Sgt. Michael Whalen said first responders arrived at 116 Pierce St. around 2:16 p.m. and encountered a 3-year-old boy who reportedly fell out of a third-story window.
Officers reported the boy was speaking when they arrived, but the extent of his injuries were unknown, Whalen said.
The 911 call came from the boy’s parents when they realized what had happened, Whalen said.
The boy was transported to the hospital by United Ambulance Service.
