UNITY — The Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association plans to celebrate a belated Earth Day, with a spring cleanup at MOFGA’s Common Ground Education Center set for 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 27, at 294 Crosby Brook Road, the public is welcome.
During this annual event, participants will spend time volunteering to help MOFGA in supporting organic farmers and gardeners. Volunteers can help tidy the grounds to get ready for the upcoming growing season and events MOFGA will be hosting, including raking, preparing garden beds, working in the kitchen, and cleaning up the woodlot.
For those who may want less physical activity, there also will be opportunities for office jobs like counting and organizing inventory, and helping with MOFGA’s online store.
All ages and experience levels are welcome. Indoor activities also will be available. A home-cooked lunch will be provided for all participants at noon.
