
DRESDEN — A 28-year-old woman was arrested Friday in Gardiner after allegedly taking a vehicle from someone she knew and setting it on fire.
The Maine Office of State Fire Marshal was called Thursday morning to a wooded area off Alexander Road to investigate a report of a vehicle intentionally set on fire.
Following its investigation, Stephanie Lamoreau, 28, was arrested on Warren Avenue in Gardiner on charges of of arson, aggravated criminal mischief and unauthorized use of property, according to Shannon Moss, public information officer for the Maine Department of Public Safety.
Lamoreau is being held at Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset on $5,000 bail.
The Gardiner Police Department and the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department assisted the state fire marshal in the investigation.
