UNITY TOWNSHIP — An automobile crash forced the closure Thursday of Waterville Road in Unity Township, according to officials.
As of early Thursday afternoon, the road was expected to remain closed for a few more hours while police had an accident reconstructionist at the scene of the crash, according to Lt. Chris Read of the Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office.
Initial, unconfirmed reports indicated a two-car crash occurred midmorning in the area of 1209 Waterville Road, with serious injury and at least one crash victim trapped inside a vehicle.
Waterville Road is also known as state Route 139.
