The first Artwalk Gardiner is set for 5-8 p.m. Friday, May 17.
Subsequent downtown exhibition dates, all free and open to everyone, will be held Fridays, Aug. 16 and Dec. 6.
These evenings of art and celebration will feature unique works by a variety of local artists and craftspeople. The events include painting, printmaking, photography, ceramics, handmade books, jewelry, textiles and sculpture.
The artists and their work will be located in shops, galleries, artists’ studios, and other downtown venues. There will be live music throughout the evening and raffle for a chance to win an original piece of art made by one of the artwalk’s participants for anyone who visits 10 or more event locations. To participate, people should pick up a map when they arrive at the event.
The event is in partnership with Gardiner Main Street.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
