Bruce White, I like you, but I can’t vote for you in the primary.

I believe very strongly we need to support women’s reproductive rights in Maine. Rep. White’s voting record on this topic in the Legislature over the last four years is horrible. For example, he voted nay on L.D. 616 to authorize protections for abortion service providers and, in a previous session, he failed to vote on L.D. 811 to expand access to reproductive care. The fact that the Maine Right to Life committee gives him a positive rating must be brought to the attention of all Democratic primary voters.

Protecting LGBTQ+ rights are also important to my family. Rep. White walked out of the vote banning conversion therapy without casting his ballot. His track record of avoiding the hard votes is not the behavior I want in my representative. I’m voting for Cassie Julia.
