“Lee” Elliot Sandler

READFIELD – “Lee” Elliot Sandler passed away peacefully April 9, 2024, with family by his side. He was diagnosed early September 2023, with a glioblastoma brain tumor.

Elliot and his identical twin, Robert, were born June 8, 1945, to Helen and Solomon Sandler, in Boston, Mass. Robert passed away from childhood leukemia April 1949.

He graduated from Randolph (Massachusetts) High School in 1963, earned a business degree from Burdett College, then joined the Army. Lee had a 30-plus year career in music. A move to Maine in 1979 spurred his love for horses. He started Northstar Ranch – a tack shop selling trailers, supplies and horses. His last business venture was Northstar Video Productions, capturing various events including recitals, sporting events and weddings.

Lee enjoyed talking with people, telling stories and a good joke. There was always an abundance of laughter when he was around.

He is survived by his wife, Susan; sister, Judy (James) Inman; his four children, Wendy (Mark) Kerchoff, Howie (Kerri), Shana (Ryan) Dulac, Branden (Kathryn); and his four grandchildren, Victoria and Bryden Kerchoff, Craig and Morgan Sandler.

Celebration of Life will be held May 25, at 11 a.m. at the Winthrop United Methodist Church in Winthrop.
