ST. ALBANS — Ryan Brooks of Palmyra was, in April, the first student of SKILLS Opportunities Driving School to earn his driving permit.
Brooks earned his permit with a 96% exam score.
SKILLS Opportunities Driving School, which opened in Palmyra in March, is focused on preparing people with intellectual and developmental disabilities for Maine’s permit test and driver’s license test. It includes an initial assessment for driver readiness, 30 hours of classroom instruction, 10 hours of driver instruction, and continued support for participants.
