
Judith L. Bossie
SKOWHEGAN – Judith L. Bossie, 84, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. Judy was born in Skowhegan on Feb. 18, 1940. She graduated from Skowhegan High School in 1957. She went on to earn her Bachelors and Masters Degree in Education.
Judy taught 4th grade in Bingham, then Middle School in Solon for a total of 31 years. Many lives were affected positively by her compassion and love of education. She also founded KIPI, a non profit organization providing self employment to people when Bingham’s Veneer Mill closed.
Judy enjoyed spending her time off with family at camp on Lily Bay, Moosehead Lake. She thoroughly enjoyed playing games from Cribbage, Hand and Foot and Bridge to Trivial Pursuit. She loved Jigsaw puzzles and had a passion for reading. She enjoyed traveling and danced for Sallys Top Hat for years. She held a warm heart for animals and loved her three cats Betsy, Molly and Charlie.
She was predeceased by her mother Lorena Provost, father Arthur Provost, husband J. Roland Bossie, brothers-in-law Roger Bossie, Wallace Bossie and James Bossie; sisters-in-law Pauline MacIver and Betty Goody.
Judy is survived by her daughter Sharon Noel, son Mark Bossie, daughter-in-law Rochelle Bossie; grandchildren Paul Bossie and wife Melissa, Joshua Noel, Stephanie Hodgdon and husband Charlie, Brian Noel, Ashley Noel, Lauren Bossie and fiancée Levi Hayden; sister Sue Hinkley and husband John Hinkley, brothers-in-law Robert Bossie and Donald Bossie; great grandchildren Paul Bossie Jr., Annah Okusko, Abel Okusko, Noah Norberto, Lydia Hayden and Logan Hayden; nephews Steven and Derek Hinkley; cousins Ross Steward and Jayne Curtis; and many great nieces and nephews.
A service will be held on June 8 at 1:00 at the Federated Church in Skowhegan with a reception at Tewksbury Hall, behind the church following the service.
