Dorothy ‘Dot’ Mae Reny
WATERVILLE – Dorothy ‘Dot’ Mae Reny passed away peacefully on May 11, 2024, with family by her side at Oak Grove care facility. She was born in Waterville on Sept. 5, 1925, the oldest daughter of Patrick LaChance and Ludivine (Gagnon) Lachance. She grew up on a farm in Benton and had many fond memories of the farm.
Dorothy attended Lawrence High School in Fairfield and graduated in 1943. Dorothy married Roland B. Reny in 1947. Together they raised five sons and one daughter.
She and her husband were proprietors of Reny’s market in Waterville for many years. Dorothy loved to travel, traveling to Europe, the Holy land, Hawaii, Florida, Myrtle Beach, and other great destinations. Dorothy loved to garden and was very proud of her flowers.
Dorothy was predeceased by her parents, her husband and sons Michael and Patrick.
She is survived by her brother Aurther (Geraldine) Lachance of St. Albans, sister Jacqueline Plourde of Winslow; sons Richard (Elizabeth) Reny of Winslow, Gerard Reny of Clinton, Timothy (Jane) of Underhill Center, Vt., and daughter Kathleen (Kevin) Bolduc of Oakland; along with 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff at Oak Grove for the wonderful care they gave Dorothy and to the hospice staff for caring so much for our mom. A special Thank you to Carol LeClair a niece for all she has done over the years.
A mass of Christian burial will take place on Friday, May 17, 2024, at 11:10 at St. John Church in Winslow, Maine.
